Zurich Airport celebrated its seventieth anniversary this weekend. During bus tours and exhibitions, the spectators could experience the flight operations up close. Approximately 68,000 people were present on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the organizers, the event took place at eight event sites. With a year of preparation several concerts were organized, besides air shows, exhibitions, guided tours and guided tours. There were about 150 helpers in service.
The first conclusion of the organizers is positive. There were no noteworthy incidents. On individual event grounds, the entrance had to be stopped for a short period of time for safety reasons, because the maximum capacity was reached.
More than 29 million people flew from Zurich airport in 2017, arrived or were transferred. Approximately 280 companies employ nearly 27,000 people at the airport. The next edition of the adventure weekend is expected to take place in 2020.
