Bakery Groba reduces half of the jobs – economy

Grossbaeckerei Groba AG sells more than half of its jobs. As the largest client of the company leaves, 60 employees at the Brüttisellen ZH and Berne locations and 15 employees of external logistics companies lose their jobs.

The biggest customer of Groba AG wants to focus more and more on baking frozen dough pieces and therefore has not renewed its delivery contract with the bakery for fresh bread, as the company announced on Monday evening. Groba therefore expects about 75 percent less turnover.

A consultation procedure has been initiated in connection with the planned job reductions. Most job reductions will be implemented by the end of 2018.
At the beginning of the year, the company employed 115 people. The turnover in recent years averaged between 20 and 25 million francs in sales. (Chk / SDA)
