At 12.40 a 78-year-old man, accompanied by his wife, rode his bike on the sloping Schützenstrasse in the direction of Hegnau. For reasons that are still unclear, he lost control of his bike and crashed.
The pensioner, who did not wear a helmet, sustained serious head injuries. He was taken to hospital with a rescue vehicle.
