Fire brigade and rescue service: on Saturday morning the Coop branch in St. Annahof had to be evacuated on the Zurich Bahnhofstrasse. Reason had been a smoke in the cellar, confirmed protection and Zurich saved several media reports.
Because the incident took place shortly after the opening of the store, not many people had been in the store yet. Only a handful of people were therefore evacuated from the building, sharing protection and rescue. After about two hours the building was released again.
The exact cause of the smoke is not yet known. However, the first findings point to a breakdown in the electronic field. The firefighters had to aerate the affected parts of the shopping center. In addition, water had to be extracted, because the sprinkler system was switched on because of the smoke.
