Higher operating profit and better turnover for mountain railways Destination Gstaad: The company has managed to turn around after difficult years. But further investments are needed to remain competitive.
As BDG AG announced at the general meeting on Saturday, it increased its turnover and the number of guests ("first steps") by 18 percent at the end of April. The profit increased from 115,000 to 281,000 francs.
The operating result before depreciation and amortization has risen disproportionately, writes BDG AG, namely by 37 percent. The cash flow also increased by 39 percent.
In 2015/16, the company was saved from bankruptcy thanks to capital reductions and capital purchases. In addition to private individuals, various communities were involved, in particular the local community of Saanen.
Happy with the Top4 plan
For BDG AG, it has paid off that the company is participating in the Top4 plan. This is a subscription for CHF 666, with which four ski resorts of Bernese Oberland have responded to offers from Saas-Fee and Romandie ("Magic Pass"). The sales targets were clearly exceeded.
In December, BDG AG will inaugurate the new Saanenmöser-Saanerslochgrat gondola lift. According to the BDG, the Canton of Bern also approved an amendment to the superstructure regulations for the new gondola lift at Eggli. The approval process for the planning is still ongoing. Construction should start in the spring of 2019. (Flo / SDA)
