According to the current findings of the Cantonal police Bern were on Monday evening, a truck and a car on the A1 in the direction of Zurich on the road, as it came shortly before the motorway service area Grauholz for reasons that need to be clarified, a collision of the two vehicles.
The driver's driver was seriously injured with an ambulance that was taken to the hospital. The driver and the truck driver remained unharmed in the accident. Two lanes from the A1 motorway towards Zurich had to be closed for several hours for the duration of the accident and the rescue work.
In addition to the cantonal police Bern, an ambulance crew and the professional fire brigade Bern were in action. Traffic has meanwhile been skipped over the remaining two lanes at the scene of the accident. Because of the delays in traffic there was a considerable congestion. The accident is being investigated.
Also regional traffic Bern-Solothurn RBS reported failures and delays due to "extraordinary traffic congestion in the Wankdorf area". In particular, lines 44, 46, 47, 36, 40 and 41 were affected.
