  • Victoria (46) and David Beckham (45) are building an artificial lake on their property.

  • A first planning application was approved, but now plans have been made for a larger lake.

  • The lake should now be 100 meters long and 55 meters wide.

  • Beckham’s neighbors have expressed objections to the big project.

David (45) and Victoria Beckham (46) are apparently far from finished renovating and expanding their luxury estate in the British Cotswolds. After its own sports field for tennis and football lessons, two swimming pools and several saunas, the couple’s next major project is currently in the starting blocks: an artificial lake with an area of more than 4100 square meters and even a small island.

The Beckhams seem to have done the math without their neighbors. As the UK newspaper “The Sun” reports, several people have complained to the responsible community and objected to the project. “The size of the lake could significantly increase the risk of flooding in the area,” one letter said.

“That should be banned!”

The residents are especially angry because it is the second time that the Beckhams have submitted a planning application for the lake. The first plans, which envisaged an area of nearly 3,000 square meters and no island, were submitted and approved in July. Even then, there were objections that were rejected.

As the lake gets bigger, the neighbors expect the worst: “What’s next? Motor boats racing across the lake and disturbing our peace? ‘The kidney-shaped lake, about 100 meters long and 55 meters wide, also simply looks too big on the plans for the land area intended for it. “That should be banned!”

Victoria and David Beckham have not yet publicly commented on their neighbors’ displeasure. But the excavators have already stopped on their luxury Cotswolds estate: According to “The Sun”, excavation for the artificial lake has started in recent days. For the time being, however, only the plans approved in July will be implemented, as the decision of the authorities on the introduction of the new plans is still pending.
