On Saturday there was a special promotion for special marbles.
Various customers shopped for hundreds of francs and ended up only getting one marble.
Migros apologizes – and offers a replacement.
Rahel Hochuli is really angry. The woman from Steinach got up early on Saturday morning to do her shopping at Migros Arbon TG. She had a reason for this: she wanted to get to the special marbles.
The background to this is the “All Stars” marble campaign by Migros, which runs from November 3 to Christmas Eve. A total of 40 glass marbles can be collected for a marble run. There is a free marble for every purchase of CHF 20. In addition, there is a discount on the marble track for a certain number of collected stickers, which can also be posted in Migros.
Bought for 300 francs
December 5th is the day of the superstar marbles. The specially colored marbles, four in number, are only available on this day. Rahel Hochuli was therefore frustrated: although she bought for 300 francs, she received only one of the coveted special marbles. Explanation from the Migros employee at the counter: There are not enough marbles in stock.
‘Now I can’t get the bin full. That’s just a shame for the kids, ”says Hochuli. She thinks Migros’s approach is a bottomless cheek: “When they say I get one marble for every 20 francs, and in the end I am alone with one, that is almost a fraud for me.”
Several readers were deeply disappointed
Hochuli isn’t the only one disappointed by Migros today. At 20 Minutes, several customers came forward to collect marbles for their children and grandchildren. To get all the special marbles, they bought between 190 and 400 francs. In the stores, including Arbon TG or Wallisellen ZH, they only got one marble. The reason the Migros employees gave, according to the readers, was always: “We don’t have enough marbles in stock.” The Migros fundraising campaign also drew sharp criticism from disappointed customers on Twitter. “Now the whole family is angry,” writes one.
Migros understands the anger: “We absolutely understand the disappointment of the customers concerned,” writes spokesman Marcel Schlatter on request from 20 minutes. Migros was simply surprised by the question, “The special marbles went away like warm Weggli, so we just didn’t have them in sufficient numbers.”
Those who have not received marbles can now submit the receipt by email. “Migros strives for an equal replacement. We do everything we can to handle this as quickly as possible. “
