The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) decided on Monday (September 17) to offer free public transport between 6 am and 2 pm.
Meeting with the joint signature of the AK party and vice-chairmen of the CHP group, the IMM meeting decided to authorize IMM chairman Mevlut Uysal to provide free services to prevent the formation of heavy traffic and to refer citizens to public transport vehicles as in previous years.
Accordingly, the public transport facilities in the city will offer free services on Monday, September 17 between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. when the schools are opened.
According to the decision of the meeting, citizens will be able to use the IETT buses, private public buses, metrobus, nostalgic trams and tunnels, including the integration of the Istanbul Kart fee at academic year 2018-2019, Ferries , private sea transport vehicles, Metro İstanbul A.Ş. (Tram, Metro, Light Subway and Funicular, Teleferik and Kadıköy Modal Nostalgic Tram) vehicles and Otobüs A.Ş. will be able to travel for free at the times indicated.
