WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 (KUNA) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has discussed the latest developments in the region with the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy commander-in-chief of the UAE forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
In a statement, spokeswoman Leeds Noiret of the Foreign Ministry said that the two sides emphasized during their contact with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed about their mutual commitment to improving security and stability in the region.
The two sides also discussed "the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and the United Arab Emirates," she said.
The talks also covered "the importance of supporting efforts to achieve a lasting peace in Afghanistan," she said. (End)
