The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has published the details of the school health policy, which is being implemented in schools in Dubai, in collaboration with 7 strategic partners, as students start their school visit today, starting the new school year (2018/2019).

The school health policy is based on three main lines, namely: promoting a healthy lifestyle, disease prevention and early detection, and information systems and health research.

The school health services are regarded as one of the most important health services in view of the size of the target group. The Dubai School health policy is the general framework for the consolidation of efforts, visions and initiatives between the various government agencies involved in the development and construction of services. Efficient school health that responds to needs and addresses high flexibility issues within the overall development vision of the Dubai government for the years (2016/2021).

At the end of the school year, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) began implementing the new school health policy after being directly recognized by his Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai and chairman of the executive council. Promoting the health of schools and encouraging students to adopt a healthy lifestyle to achieve a healthier and happier society The school has welcomed the policy on a large scale by school boards and parents and has received a remarkable response from students.

The Authority said that this policy was based on a thorough and careful analysis of current reality and identification of the weaknesses, gaps and determinants of the current system in an attempt to bridge it and to improve the output of the school health system in Dubai in order to enable them to meet the requirements of government work and the government agenda in accordance with its priorities and interests in development and progress.

It aims to develop various performance indicators related to the goals, based on stages and time periods, and in accordance with clear mechanisms and paths to achieve the objectives accurately. At the forefront of these goals is to promote health patterns among students, including food and physical activities, and to avoid potential economic burdens associated with these problems (in the future).
