Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Arabic Language launches his 5th session

The Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Arabic language announced yesterday the launch of the fifth edition of the prize. During the press conference in the margins of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the first prize of this session in the municipality of Dubai, the discussion of the work plans for the award and the formation of technical committees, as well as the coordination of the agenda of the prize and the timetable for receiving requests,

The meeting was chaired by HE Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Arabic language, in the presence of the board members: Bilal Al Budoor, secretary- General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award, Dr. Abdel-Qader Fassi Fihri, chairman of the Linguistics Association in Morocco, Dr. Hanada Taha, professor of Arabic language at Zayed University.

In the coming period, a number of initiatives and campaigns will be started to increase the awareness of the Award and its departments. These are aimed at honoring excellent initiatives and exceptional contributions to support the Arabic language in the fields of education, media, Arabization, technology and the preservation and dissemination of the Arab linguistic heritage.

The prize includes eleven categories that are honored annually: the first category is awarded to the best project in the field of Arabization and translation work in Arabic.

Traditional media

In the field of media, the Award honors the best works in traditional media, such as television, press or radio news programs. In interactive media, creativity is best designed and implemented on social networking sites.

In the field of smart technology and applications, the award recognizes the best intelligent application for teaching Arabic via computer programs & smartphones and the best website for the spread of Arabic.

Under the Arabic Linguistic Heritage Department, a category was devoted to honoring the best initiatives that contribute to the preservation of the Arabic linguistic heritage through its collection and dissemination, making it accessible and accessible to scientists and specialists through Arabic manuscripts, libraries and publishing houses.

Initiatives and projects

Education has received a large share of the reward categories for higher education and public education, where it honors the best initiatives, projects and programs that have been designed and implemented by institutions of higher education for the use of Arabic in colleges or universities to encourage.

In addition to honoring the best initiatives that help to teach the Arabic language in terms of curricula or teaching methods, in addition to celebrating centers and specialized programs in Arabic teaching non-native speakers, as well as assigning a category of initiatives which encourage reading in Arabic and raise awareness of the importance and facilitate the access of books to readers.
