Slimming World has come under fire after it was announced that Muller Light yogurt is no longer syn-free.
The slimming brand has revealed a number of changes to its list of free lists and syn & # 39; s with a series of affected products.
Muller lamps are just one of the foods that are affected by the change, which means that they now have a syn value of 1.
The yogurt was formerly & # 39; free & # 39; on Slimming World plans, meaning you can eat as much as you want.
The news was reportedly shared on social media before the company confirmed the changes to dieters.
Muller Light yogurt is fat-free, usually less than 99 calories, and was ubiquitous on the syn-free list.
Anyone who follows the Slimming World Extra Easy plan is allowed between 5-15 syns per day without compromising their weight loss.
The Free Foods then form the largest part of your food when you work on a Slimming World plan, working according to the principle that they have a low energy density and are very satiating.
Followers may therefore eat as much free food as they want.
However, after today's announcements, followers have expressed their anger about the news with one letter: "Slimming World can continue jogging if they think I am synchronizing Muller lights!"
Muller Lights is not the only product added to the syn-list, with spaghetti-hoops in tomato sauce and instant mashed potatoes also from the list of free foods.
Slimming World responded to its customers on Twitter and said: "After feedback, we've looked at our guidance and while clearer fat-free yogurt has been added to our free food list, flavored fat-free varieties now have a small syn value because they have less filling power and will sooner occur in larger quantities are eaten.
"Because instant mash has less fiber and less filling power than puree made with fresh potatoes, and canned pasta has less filling power than cooked dried pasta in a homemade sauce, they now have a small syn value."
Slimming World offers daily allowances for & # 39; healthy extra & # 39; s & # 39; and encourages fast food & # 39; to get the right amount of nutrients in the diet of members.
This fast food includes fruits and vegetables that are even lower in calories than regular free foods, but still have the filling power to help healthy weight loss even further.
There is also a wide range of dairy products, legumes and grains, and meat substitute products that are classified as free food.
A Slimming World spokesman said: "Our Nutrition team routinely evaluates our Food Optimizing food plan to ensure it is up-to-date, in compliance with the latest guidelines, and to take into account the feedback from our 5,000 Consultants and 900,000 Slimming World members.
"As part of this process we have looked at how we can give our vegan members more choice, and we are pleased that a number of vegan foods, including canned jackfruit and ordinary and non-smoked seitan, can now be freely enjoyed by smarters following our plan. .
"In addition, a number of products – fat-free flavored yogurts, canned pasta forms in tomato sauce and instant mashed potatoes – which were previously free on our plan, which means that they can be eaten without weighing, counting or measuring, now a small Syn value ( all food and drink that is not Free has a Syn value and members enjoy between five and 15 Syns every day).
"This is because some of these foods are often eaten in large quantities, as a snack instead of as part of a meal, or because they are less filling than alternatives, such as mashed potatoes made with fresh potatoes, or dried pasta with a homemade tomato sauce. Because the new Syn values are still so low, members can easily incorporate them into their daily choices, if that's what they choose to do, and fat-free natural yogurt, dried pasta and potatoes will stay free.
