Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Susannah Constantine eliminated tonight

Susannah Constantine, 56, and her partner Anton du Beke, 52, were the first participants to be punished with Strictly Come Dancing.

The scores of the duo put them in the bottom two, which meant that they had to take on EastEnders & # 39; Lee Ryan, 35, and Nadiya Bychkova, 29, in the dreaded dance.

Both couples re-routed their routines, but Susannah's Foxtrot was not enough to take the jurors' breath away.

After Lee and Susannah had finished their dances, the judges issued their sentences – and all four decided to send Susannah home.

Craig Revel Horwood said: "For me it is not a good idea and the couple I would like to save is Lee and Nadiya."

"I have to say that both couples have made a great improvement tonight, thanks, but the couple that I want to save on a more rounded and stronger performance is Lee and Nadiya," added Darcey Bussell.

Bruno Tonioli and head judge Shirley Ballas agreed.

"I'm so lucky that I learned to dance with Anton for three weeks"

After hearing the judge's decision, Susannah said, "I know it went a little fast, but you know what makes me feel so fortunate that I learned to dance with Anton for three weeks and met all these wonderful people.

"And for me they are the most important and I feel really privileged that I've met them all, and it was great."

Susannah continued: "And thank you (judges), you made the right choice guys, Lee and Nadiya were brilliant, but Anton is still the king!"

Anton added: "It's just very short, I've had the most fantastic time with Susannah, she'll be a big loss to the show.

"Unfortunately, someone has to come, but I wish you were not because you're great to be there, I'll miss you in the studio.

"We had a great time, we had a lot of fun and you are wonderful and thank you very much."

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One next Saturday.
