A man was in a critical condition after putting 15 hard boiled eggs on the bottom while using drugs.
The 29-year-old man from the Netherlands, who was not identified, was under the influence of GHB, a frequent user of rape drugs, when he started cooking the eggs with his partner.
When he was cooked, he peeled them and decided to put them on the bottom, according to the Dutch health care magazine.
He got stomach pain later that night and went straight to the hospital
One of the doctors said: "The patient had tachycardia on arrival [a heartbeat of 120 beats per minute] and tachypnoea [29 rapid breaths per minute].
"Physical examinations showed belly monitoring across the stomach."
Doctors performed a CT scan because they suspected an abdominal sepsis and found a perforation of the pelvic colon and an enormous amount of air and fluid in his abdominal cavity.
They decided that it would be necessary to perform an emergency laparotomy, a surgical procedure where a large incision through the abdominal wall was taken to gain access to the abdominal cavity.
The doctor said: "The eggs were removed as well as possible and the abdominal cavity was rinsed thoroughly."
The eggs caused a huge uptake of the gastrointestinal wall, which had been sewn by the doctors.
The doctor said: "After the operation, the patient was briefly checked for intensive care.
"After a few days he could leave the hospital in a clinically good condition."
