82% of Ukrainians call themselves patriots.
This is shown by the results of a survey conducted by the Sociological Group "Rating" in August 2018.
The same percentage of patriots, according to the "Rating", was in 2017.
At the same time only 13% have the opposite opinion, another 5% found it difficult to answer. In all macro-regions in Ukraine, the total number of patriotic citizens exceeds 75%: in the West, 85%, in the Center – 84%, in the South – 79%, in the East – 76%.
During the investigation period, the largest number of those who supported the declaration of independence of Ukraine were registered, if they had such a choice today – almost 80% (in 2012 there were 62%). Only 13% expressed opposing considerations, and another 7% found it difficult to answer.
Especially those who support the declaration of independence of Ukraine, in the West (93%). In the center of such respondents 82%, in the south – 72%, in the east – 63%. Those who have the opposite view, the most in the southeastern region (from 20 to 25%).

The poll also showed that there are relatively more people who would not support the independence of our state today in the older generation, poorer people and people with a low level of education.
"Over the past 8 years, the number of people who identify themselves as a resident of Ukraine has increased: if in 2010 those who could call themselves were 57%, then such respondents already had 66% in 2018. This year this year was the smallest number of people who identified themselves as residents of their region, city, village (19%) and those who simply mentioned their nationality (13%) .At the same time, compared to the survey in 2014, there was a marked increase in the number of people that the alternative would have been "just one person" (up to 29%, in 2012 it was 24%, in 2010 – 26%) .10% of the respondents called ID as their family role, 9% consider themselves a "citizen of the world. "6% of the respondents describe themselves as" Soviet people "and" European. "Also 5%, answer the question" Who am I? ", would call their religious beliefs, 3% – the profession, the occupation, "reports" Assessment ".
It should be noted that "citizen of Ukraine", as an identifier, although dominant in all regions of Ukraine, at the same time, there are differences. For example, in the middle of the respondents who opted for this alternative – 74%, in the west – 67%, in the south – 61%, in the east – 55%.
The study was conducted from 3 to 10 August 2018. 2000 respondents were interviewed via a personal, formalized interview (face-to-face). The error in the representativeness of the research is not more than 2.2%.
