The lawyer of ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych Alexander Baidyk said that his client will use the right of the last word in the trial against the betrayal.
He said this in the Obolonsky court of Kiev, writes "RBC-Ukraine."
"Yanukovych will use the right of the last word, that is what we are going to talk about today, maybe the court will provide such an opportunity." If the court offers this possibility, then via videoconference. "I think he will personally not be able to attend the situation on safety," – said Baidyk.
It is noted that they are considering the case in the Obolonsky District Court of Kiev on charges of Yanukovich in the state scandal. He is charged with three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 5 of Art. 27 (high treason), part 2 of art. 437 (assistance with the conduct of an aggressive war), part 3 of Art. 110 (assistance in attacking the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, resulting in the death of people or other serious consequences).
The prosecuting party requests that Yanukovych be sentenced to 15 years in prison.
