Samsung has attributed the intention to issue a Galaxy A smartwatch based on Snapdragon 845

So far, only the flagships of the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Note have been equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series and only in versions for certain markets. According to Chinese sources, however, the South Korean giant is planning to break this tradition and introduce a model of the Galaxy A family, which will be built on Snapdragon 845, the most powerful chipset for Android devices in 2018.

Until now, Samsung Galaxy A smartphones were equipped with mid-range processors (on the photo Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2017)

In 2018 there was a tendency to use top-end mobile processors in medium-budget devices. One of the clearest examples is Xiaomi Pocophone F1, whose costs start at $ 300. In this case, the chip uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, which also serves as the basis for the thousand dollar flagships. It is possible that the appearance of Pocophone F1 was the reason for Samsung to develop the A-series smartphone on the single-chip system that underlies the Galaxy S9 / S9 + and Galaxy Note 9.

Other details about the unusual Galaxy A are not reported. But if you look at other medium-budget devices, including the aforementioned Pocophone F1, you can safely assume that the features of the novelty will be a vertically extended screen with limited frames (Samsung is called Infinity Display), a dual camera the back, a front-facing camera with face recognition of the owner and algorithms for processing self-images based on artificial intelligence. More accurate information that we will know in the near future, if such a model exists in the plans of Samsung.
