Ukrainian sailors caught by the Russians put false witnesses under pressure, said the commander of the Ukrainian navy.

Ukrainian soldiers caught in the Strait of Kerch are forced to testify under false witness. This was announced by the commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Igor Voronchenko, on the ICTV channel on the evening of 26 November.

"The crews of the courts are now in different places: three soldiers, one officer and two wounded contract soldiers are in the hospital of the city of Kerch. The ships are in the base station where FSB boats are stationed. There is already some evidence that our ratings have provided incorrect information "He said.

Voronchenko pointed out that there was already a video with three sailors who testified under physical and psychological influence. "I know these sailors from Nikopol, they have always been honest professionals in their field and what they say is not true," he said.

The commander of the Ukrainian navy noted that lawyers had already met these soldiers. Voronchenko also noted that two soldiers are from the Crimea and that their parents live on the peninsula, in connection with which they are under pressure.

We will recall that the FSB of Russia earlier published the video recording of the "interrogation" of three imprisoned Ukrainian sailors.

On the evening of November 25, on the Kerch Bridge, special forces of the Russian Federation seized three Ukrainian ships. As a result, six Ukrainian soldiers were injured. The FSB of Russia accused the Ukrainian side of "dangerous maneuvers" when entering the "closed waters of the territorial sea of the Russian Federation".

In connection with the aggravation of the situation, President Poroshenko convened a military bureau, the National Security Council and the Defense Council and sent a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada to institute martial law for 60 days. On November 26, parliament adopted a bill on the imposition of martial law in Ukraine for 30 days.

Russia calls the actions of Ukraine in the Strait of Kerch Strait "provocative". The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation handed a note of protest to the Charge of Affaires ad interim of Ukraine.
