‘Mini desk. Small hands. Small soul ‘: Trump mocked for speaking at the table | American news

For a US president obsessed with size – his hands, his wealth, his crowds – Donald Trump made a bold turnaround on Thursday night by addressing the country from a desk seemingly designed for a gnome.

Trump said on Thursday that he would leave the White House if the electoral college votes for Democratic president-elect Joe Biden – the closest thing to admitting his defeat – but his furnishings have caught the eye.

As he harassed reporters and repeated groundless allegations of electoral fraud, the Internet landed on his unusually small desk. Some called it symbolic of Trump’s diminished stature, some wondered if it was photoshopped (it wasn’t), most just laughed.

Actor Mark Hamill tweeted: ‘Maybe if you behave, stop lying to undermine fair elections and start thinking about what’s good for the country instead of whining about how unfairly you are being treated, you will be invited to big guys to sit down. table.”

The hashtag #DiaperDon quickly popular on Twitter, with people mocking the president as a baby banished to the kid’s table for Thanksgiving.

Trump later sent out a blizzard of tweets accusing the media of misreporting his comments and Twitter of making up “ negative things ” for his trending section.
