A woman claims that Royal Caribbean Cruises is responsible for a zipline accident in which her husband was murdered on the Honduran island of Roatan.
Court records show that lawyers from 27-year-old Shir Frenkel sued the company in Miami's federal court last month for damages in excess of $ 1 million.
The lawsuit says that Frenkel and her husband, the 24-year-old Igal Tyszman, were passengers of the Allure of the Seas in July when they booked the Extreme Caribe Zip Line Tour at the tour desk of the ship. The suit claims to be in the air, killed Tyszman and seriously injured Frenkel.
The suit says the excursion was carried out by an independent contractor, but guests were misled to believe that it was operated by Royal Caribbean.
A spokesman for Royal Caribbean says the company does not comment on pending disputes.
