Doctors United of Venezuela condemned that on the morning of this Sunday an ex-abduction took place in the Dr. Diego Carbonell hospital in Cariaco, in the state of Sucre.
The NGO indicated that two antisocials with a hood, one of them armed, submitted the staff that it was waiting for: three nurses, a waitress, two doctors, a bioanalyst, a porter and a maintenance employee.
Upon arrival they attacked and threatened to kill two doctors and a waitress who had been stripped of their cell phones, money and valuables that they had in their wallets. At the same time, one of the antisocial persons attacked an adult patient who was in the emergency room and caused an open wound in the back of the skull, according to the report of those affected.
One of the workers escaped from the place to ask for help from the police command because they could communicate by telephone. Civil servants from IAPES – Cariaco, PNB and fire brigade arrived at the medical center. One of the asocians had already fled by then. The other was held by the authorities.
The police department of the hospital was removed more than three years ago. Doctors United for Venezuela have called in the competent authorities in general.
