"John Bolton, who is President Trump's national security adviser, sends plans to kill me, he was aware of this attack and he was the one who did well," he said.

The president also compared the economic sanctions imposed on officials of his government by various countries of the world with Hitler's persecution against the Jews.

"The people of Venezuela are victims of persecution that I have compared with those of Hitler with the Jews, with the permission of the Jews," he said.
