7 years is considered a record-engine development time for SSC Tuatara supercar capacity of up to 1,350 horsepower.
In 2011, the SSC (officially named Shelby SuperCars) introduced the concept of the first Tuatara supercar. This is considered a unique mechanical art with the ambition to become the fastest super car in the world, alongside SSC Ultimate Aero.
Seven years later, Tuatara is still a concept and a prototype, but fans no longer have to wait. This car will be officially introduced on August 26 at the Pebble Beach 2018 event in California, USA.
SSC confirmed that the Tuatara supercar was launched later this month and will soon be mass-produced.
Tuatara uses a V8 engine with two turbochargers similar to the previous concept. Although the specifications have not been revealed by the manufacturer, this supercar will certainly achieve the enthusiastic high speed.
The Tuatara concept used an engine of 1,350 hp and a maximum torque of 1,280 Nm.
