Then they used the excuse “to secure account information, protect victims from fraudsters,” the subjects asked the victim to download and install applications that mimic the Department of Public Security software. The photo shown is the police station and bears the name “Ministry of Public Security”.

After the victim installs the app named “Ministry of Public Security” above, according to the subjects’ instructions, the victim must fill in the information fields displayed on this fake app, such as: username, password, bank account, full name , identity card number (citizen identification) … This information is transferred to the server managed by the subjects.

The messages and calls to the victim’s phone are managed by the spyware and forwarded to the server under the object’s control, not displayed on the victim’s phone.

More dangerous is that objects can also remotely control user’s mobile phone, such as: compose, send text messages, unlock mobile devices, turn internet on and off, access wifi, read, register. Contacts; read and write call history, make calls without the phone owner’s knowledge.

Typically, an incident occurred where subjects quietly monitored the content of messages, recovered account passwords themselves, registered online banking and Smart Banking services, and changed account transaction limits. , then go to the account and transfer the victim’s money abroad.

The messages with OTP codes, confirmation phone calls from bank employees are sent directly to the target by spyware. This is the reason why the cardholder is withdrawn without the victim realizing.
