The crushing circuit at the Kareevlei mine of BlueRock Diamonds in the North Cape now processes the intended production level of approximately 80 t / h after the installation of a second cone crusher and the implementation of optimization initiatives.
In June, BlueRock discovered a fault in the cone crusher of the circuit, halting processing for about ten days. While the error was rectified, a rented breaker was installed on site at a modest additional cost.
The original cone crusher has now been refurbished and works together with the rented crushing plant, which increases the throughput capacity in the secondary breaking process.
The 80 t / h processing capacity will contribute to the production of stored material to alleviate the production challenges that are usually present in the rain period from January to April.
