Chaos as Gweru sellers, police clashes



Spokesman for the provincial police, assistant inspector Ethel Mukwende could not be reached for comment.

To date, 1 313 typhoid cases and seven deaths have been recorded in the capital of the Midlands.

The Gweru City Council, which does not control the water-borne illness, is struggling to supply drinking water to residents as a result of aging equipment, incessant power outages in the reservoirs and increasing debt.
