Highlanders, Petten shoot blank as well as FC Platinum, Ngezi March itself

ZIMBABWE giants, Highlanders and Caps United blew their way to newcomers to the premiership, while the championship hunt on platinum mining teams had a mixed fortune in round 22 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League games Saturday were played.

Highlanders were held to a goalless draw by Nichrut in Gweru while Caps United also did not score in a zero tie with Herentals.

Second seeded Ngezi Platinum secured a run in a 1-1 draw against Hosts Chicken Inn, although not enough to leave Mhondoro Ngezi's side to keep pressure on their premiership side FC Platinum who collected the maximum points at home against Chapungu.

After the game on Saturday, FC Platinum took its lead to 52 points from 22 games while Ngezi left two more points with 48 points from the same number of games.

Chicken Inn is number three with 41 while Caps United and Highlanders are 4 and 5 with both at 36 points, although the latter have a game in their hand.

In another game played on Saturday, Black Rhinos defeated Bulawayo City 2-0.
