Fortnite changing storms, full revolvers with next update

Next week it will be a particularly busy period for Fortnite. Not only will it mark the start of the recently announced High Stakes event, Epic Games will also roll out Fortnite's new 5.40 patch and it looks like it will make some major changes to the popular generous battle game.

The studio outlined some of the incoming changes in a new one developer update. Firstly, the 5.40 patch makes the storm somewhat different. Specifically, the edge of the storm will now cause damage to player structures "in the final stages" of the race. Epic says that this change has been made in an attempt to "provide a bit more dynamic gameplay" during the final part of the game.

In addition, Epic has announced that it will place a new weapon in the safe with the 5.40 update. This time the revolver is vaulted and is effectively removed from the game. "This is part of an initiative to keep the item pool fresh and dynamic," said Epic. Although this means that players can no longer find the weapon, Epic repeats that it can always return to the game in the future.

Epic has also been bullied that it's a new & # 39; mobility item & # 39; introduces as part of the 5.40 update, although the studio did not give any further details about this. In addition, Epic says it will increase the rarity of Remote Explosives from Rare to Epic "to match its effectiveness", and it will adjust the stack sizes for certain items if they fall, such as the Boogie Bomb. You can learn more about the 5.40 patch in Epic & # 39; s video about updating developers.

Along with the 5.40 patch, Fortnite players have the aforementioned High Stakes event to look forward to next week. Epic has so far not shared many details about the event, but it seems to be based on gambling and robbery and includes a new limited mode called Getaway, a new Wild Card skin and a series of High Stakes challenges to complete.
