Microsoft today released a new preview for PCs with 12 bugfixes and some changes. This build comes from the RS5 office, which represents the Windows 10 update that the company plans to issue in October. The company also issues builds from the 19H1 branch, which, as the name implies, will arrive in the first half of next year.
Windows 10 is being developed as a service, meaning it regularly receives new features. Microsoft has released five major updates so far: November Update, Jubilee Update, Creators Update, Fall Creators Update and April 2018 Update.
Microsoft has also shared today that the next update will be the "Windows Update October 10, 2018". Also known as Windows 10 version 1809, it is expected to be finalized in September for Windows Insiders and rolled out to the public in October.
Microsoft may have stopped adding features to this update, but it has not yet been done to remove them. The performance visualizations (see your game's framerate, CPU usage, GPU VRAM usage and system RAM usage) added to the game bar in build 17692 have been removed. The team wants to "re-evaluate the best possible approach in the future and work on it to offer you a great gaming experience on your PC."
This desktop build also includes the following general bug fixes and improvements:
- The watermark in the lower-right corner of the desktop is no longer present in this build. This does not mean that this is the last build.
- Fixed an issue where logging out your user profile or shutting down your PC would cause the PC to perform a bug check (GSOD).
- A recent issue has been fixed where the color and background settings were not correctly applied after a system upgrade when the migration was completed in offline mode.
- An issue has been solved where, when installing a font for a single user (instead of installing as admin "for all users"), the installation failed with an unexpected error message that the file was not a valid font file.
- Fixed an issue where explorer.exe crashed if you were in tablet mode and opened the task view in portrait mode.
- Fixed an issue where you may unexpectedly receive an error message saying that no supported app was installed after you clicked on certain activities in the timeline even though a supported app was installed.
- Resolved an issue that resulted in the time it took to launch Settings that have noticeably increased recently.
- An issue has been solved where, if your PC switched from the battery to the plug while Windows Update settings were open and you download an update, you may unexpectedly switch to "You are up-to-date" immediately after downloading instead of continue to view the download.
- Resolved an issue where the "Logged" drop-down list was unexpectedly large in the Event Viewer's filter dialog at high DPI.
- An issue has been fixed that caused some people to unexpectedly see a "Request for permission" message from Microsoft family features for Windows Shell Experience.
- Fixed an issue where the icons for items in the Windows Security navigation window did not change color in high contrast with the rest of the item when the mouse hovered over the item, making them hard to see.
- A problem has been solved in which, when using the Chinese (simplified) IME, the memory on the focus switch leaked and added over time.
- Resolved a recent issue that could result in some weak network connection (including networks that were "identifying", and old network connectout network). Please note that there are several factors that may affect your network experience. If you continue to experience problems after upgrading to this build, please report feedback.
- The messages in Snipping Tool have been updated and Microsoft is still renaming the updated cutting experience.
Today's update clashes the Windows 10 build number for the RS5 branch from 17746 (made available for testers on August 24) to build 17751.
This build has three known problems:
- When you make the & # 39; Ease of access to text larger & # 39; you may see problems with text clipping or see that the text does not grow anywhere.
- Narrator sometimes does not read in the Settings app when navigating with the tab and arrow keys. Try temporarily switching to Narrator Scan mode. And when you switch off scan mode again, Narrator now reads when you navigate using the tab and arrow keys. You can also restart Narrator to work around this problem.
- Clicking web links in PWA & # 39; s like Twitter does not open the browser in this build.
Do not install this on your production machine as always.
