vivo recently announced the NEX Dual Display Edition, a high-end smartphone that solves the problem by completely shielding a front-facing camera, instead providing the back of the phone with a screen – allowing you to use the main camera system for selfies can use too.
Now it seems that the company is busy preparing a slightly more affordable version of this device – which feels familiar because it did it earlier in the year with the NEX S and NEX A. The "NEX A" variant of the NEX Dual Display Edition is made possible by the Snapdragon 710 chipset, coupled with 8 GB of RAM.
The camera system is also different: the cheaper model gets a 12 MP + 13 MP + 2 MP setup. The new phone has a 3,425 mAh battery. It measures 157.19 x 75.3 x 8.09 mm and weighs 200.19 g. It is only available in gold.
Everything else seems to be shared with the NEX Dual Display Edition. It is unclear when the new device will become official, but it should happen soon, now that it has been certified by TENAA for sales in China.
